Q. Why won't the install screen pop up when I put the CD in the tray?
A. You probably don't have the CD auto notification feature turned on with your computer.
To turn this ON follow these steps:
********************** Windows 98 ******************
-> Click 'Start' button
-> Click 'Settings' option
-> Click 'Control Panel' option
-> Click 'System' Icon
-> Click 'Device Manager' tab
-> Click the '+' sign next to the CD ROM to expand the list
-> Right click on the device you wish to turn the feature on for
-> Select 'Properties'
-> Select 'Setting
-> OK, see the check boxes? One is called "Auto insert notification". Left click on the check mark and then click on the "OK" button on the bottom.
-> After clicking the "OK", the Control Panel window will be displayed. Click on the "Close" button and your computer will ask you to reboot. Click the "Yes" button.
********************** Windows 2000 **********************
-> Normally when you insert a disc into your CD-ROM drive, the contents are automatically launched. This tweak allows you to enable/disable this behavior.
-> Open your registry and find the key below.
-> Change to value of 'Autorun', or create a new DWORD value if it doesn't already exist, and set the data to equal '0' for Autorun disabled.
-> Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
Autorun REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom
Registry Settings
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom]
Value Name: Autorun
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)
